How we are using Covid-19 Catch Up Premium

Every school is receiving £80 per pupil to help children recover from the disruption of Covid-19 school closures.

We are using our £7120 funding to subsidise targeted intervention groups for children with their class teachers who they know and trust. Our experienced part-time teachers are leading individual and group phonics, reading, writing and maths activities to help pupils recover their confidence and develop more secure core skills.

Our aim is to help children be 'ready to progress'' with the strongest skillset to help them with future learning. Additional mornings of targeted group work are helping pupils to master essential building blocks of core learning.

Self-regulation, metacognition and self-esteem are vital for pupils to feel good about themselves with a growth mindset for learning. These priorities are low cost but high impact - please see more information at:

Our Outdoor Learning programme is subsidised with catch up premium - every child in the school has enjoyed a block of forest school learning with teambuilding challenges, environmental education and an uplifting outdoor boost to help energy levels and well-being. These sessions are led by our in-house qualified Forest School leader, Mrs Lizzie Cotton, who also teaches our Buttercups class.
