Design Technology

Through the design technology curriculum children develop skills of problem solving, planning, model-making and evaluating their constructions enabling them to become creative problem solvers. Children learn to design and make a variety of objects fit for a specific purpose. They are taught to handle tools safely and understand the properties of various materials such as wood and plastic, and to experiment with a range of joining and finishing materials such as glue and paint. Food technology is also taught as part of this subject.
